The View Point Inn, the place where the Twilight Prom on the movie took place, it’s up for sale. It’s really a pity, because it’s such a beautiful place. A new campaign to save View Point Inn has started, and you can have more info in their site, here. Read full statement of the owners below.

Owners Geoff Thompson and Angelo Simione fought the government for three arduous years to save and restore The View Point Inn. They have saved it, but need to pass the torch on to someone who can continue the necessary restoration process to ensure the Inn lasts another hundred years. The Inn needs a million dollars worth of repairs and improvements. They have diligently sought investors and bank loans to no avail.

“We are saddened to place The View Point Inn on the market and simultaneously are excited by the opportunity to be alive and able to secure the Inn’s future,” agreed Thompson and Simione. “We intend to scrutinize prospective buyers and ascertain their credentials and ability to continue operations of The View Point Inn as a hotel and restaurant. It is imperative a buyer works with us to transition the inn seamlessly into a new ownership.” Thompson stated emphatically, “Every single event booked at the Inn will take place. We will continue our service and commitment up to, during and after new ownership takes over.” The pair promises the property will only be sold to parties that will agree to continue The View Point Inn legacy as a Nationally Registered hotel and restaurant.

Thompson does not want to sell his dream, however, he is primarily concerned about what is best for The View Point Inn’s long term future. Had the capital for needed restoration from an investor or bank loan materialized, Thompson stated, “I would have continued with my dream. I love the Inn. If I have to let it go to save it — that’s what I have to do.” Simione chimed in, “We want to see the Inn flourish, succeed and continue for hundreds of years as a great Oregon landmark. The three year battle with government hasn’t diminished our chutzpah, but it severely drained our wallets with all the exorbitant legal bills and financial upkeep the Inn required as well during that time without revenue flow. I’m not complaining. It’s just a fact.”

Both owners reiterated, “We will continue operating the Inn throughout this process without any interruption in service and continue booking and servicing all events.” Thompson wished to drive his point home again saying, “The Inn will continue to operate and is not closing regardless of a sale.”

The View Point Inn is listed with Coldwell Banker. The broker is Jean R. Beymer.
