How much room is there for Robert Pattinson in New Moon? How much wll he need for big box office numbers? A report from weekly entertainment magazine Life & Style notes that the sequel is affecting Rob Pattinson’s social life and his career. The report claims that the reworking the New Moon script to expand Edward’s role means more screen time in the sequel for Robert, but that situation has already forced him to pull out of the indie flick Parts Per Billion (co starring Rosario Dawson).

The celebrity magazine notes he had hoped to shoot that film before reporting to the Moon set in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the end of March. “The prep time and production schedule of the sequel haven’t left enough time [for the other film],” Rob’s rep confirms to the mag.

New Moon has always been my least favorite in the series. Nothing but a moping Bella trying to fill not one, but two holes in her chest. Very bland at best.

I would be grateful if the film adds new light to the existing story by bringing Edward’s POV into the film more often. Also, I’m sure Meyer’s will play a good role in approving/disapproving certain scenes from the script so that it makes sense to the story and characters.

I’m curious to see what they’re doing with this.

I understand where they’re coming from about Rob being the big draw, but I do have a problem with them changing New Moon too much.. I don’t want Rob shoved into scenes where he doesn’t belong. I want it to be like the book so Edward/Rob can make his big dramatic entrance at the end, which I feel its going to be more intense for us because of not seeing Edward for much of the movie. What I would like is when Bella hears’ his voice we get to see/hear Edward voice or like Bella sees Edward vision speaking to hear, that I can live with. But NOT shoving him in scenes where he doesn’t belong. It just wouldn’t be the same in my opinion.

i do think there will be more Rob in New Moon the movie than new moon the book, but I don’t think it will be overdone- they know they have to stick close to the book .. stephenie won’t let them go too crazy with creativity…

and plus… people will still see the movie. 5 minutes of Rob is better than no minutes of Rob!

I definitely hope there is more Edward/Rob in New Moon and I think there are plenty of ways to do it and still remain true to the book. Perhaps these scenes:

Edward “curling up in a ball and letting the misery have me.”

Edward’s reaction when Jacob tells him on the phone that Charlie is “at the funeral.”

Edward getting Rosalie’s phone call that Bella died.”

And I would love to see him go before the Volturi and ask them to kill him.

I am not looking forward to 90 minutes of Jacob/Taylor with Bella so I hope they can do something and have more Edward/Rob in the movie! If not, just shoot me now.

A note to the post above mine (unintendedchoice) I will see the movie once but if it only has a bit of Rob in it, I will not go back over and over again like I did with Twilight.

They need to remember that they’re doing Eclipse at the same time… Edward’s in the whole of that.
