‘New Moon’ Fans Think Movie Deserves Oscar Nominations

New Moon fans think that the movie deserves some Oscar nominations, well it does deserve!! I know I do think so!

Critics certainly reacted strongly — and often negatively — to “New Moon,” but moviegoers came out in droves, and after the mega blockbuster “The Dark Knight” failed to nab a Best Picture nod in 2008, the Academy might be looking to make a change. Or not. The idea of vampires joining the likes of Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman in “Invictus“) seems a bit of a stretch. Yet the Twilighters MTV News spoke to at a recent fan event in Times Square were certain “New Moon” deserved some Oscar love.

“They always give the [nominations] to the boring movies,” said Vanesa Reyes, who said she and her friends planned to see the movie four or five times over its first weekend. “Let’s give young people a chance to win some Oscars. It’s time for a change.” …

Okay, I’m sorry. I love Twilight, big fan will stand up for it. But really…an Oscar? It was certainly better than Twilight but I don’t know about it being Oscar worthy.

I think i does! Altho I haven’t watched the movie but it’ll be great and I’m sure of it! Like boring movies always get Oscar nomination (Curious Case of B.B. most boring movie ever!) while the mega hits like Harry Potter, Dark Night… don’t! It doesn’t make sense

You know, iam really a hughe fan of Twilight, but i think that a oscar is a littlebit tóo much. New Moon was great, really, i already seen it 3 times in de cinema, but, yeh, i don’t know. When New Moon is going to be nominated, well, that would be awesome, but win the MTV movie award for best movie or something would be great too. And @ Moe, i love Benjamin Button, that movie was só beautiful!

Seriously ?! I mean, I loved New Moon, but the Oscars ?! No, it certainly doesn’t deserve any Oscar, it’s a good movie but how can they compare New Moon with Invictus ? It’s a f****** CLINT EASTWOOD movie !! Plus, there’s not only boring movie at the Oscars, there’s also masterpieces ! And, I’m sorry but the Dark Knight was a masterpiece, and HP6 certainly deserves some nominations, at least for the FX or for Tom Felton/Alan Rickman/Michael Gambon, cause they were incredible. The photography was gret also.
So, yes New Moon is a good movie but please no Oscar, that would be a shame.

Hahah it was lovely buy not oscar worthy. Wait for Breaking Dawn its a lot more mature, Kristens gonna have to look like death. Though even then i think oscar is pushing it. Maybe get a director like the guy who did benjamin button.
