Catherine Hardwick has explained that they added those scenes in to build up the climax. In the book, the nomads show up out of nowhere and that wouldn’t have worked that well in a movie. Usually, you don’t introduce the villain in the fourth act.

I totally get why they added the murder scenes. They wanted to attract a male audiance. Murder and violence equals male interest…or stupidity, whatever you want to call it. I also think the explanation of the nomads was important for those who hadnt read the books.

I agree they needed to have an introduction so people wouldn’t be so confussed. I know they changed some little things but it was prolly just to keep the movie flowing. I loved it though I went and saw it 2 times today and many more to come!lol!

I plan to see it Sunday. And I would have to agree with you guys. I think that in a literary sense some things work but in a movie, you have to please the eye. Take for example the sense were she tells him she knows what he is. This happened in the car on the way back from the dinner date. In the movie this would be kind of boring, right? So to have that sequence show up in the forrest seems a little more interesting to the eyes and ears especially for those that have not read the books. I was a little worried about the acting, but after reading everyone’s comments here and on MySpace; my only concerns have now been wiped away. I know its going to be different and I expect it to be. We also expect that its not going to win any Oscars, right?! If its just as entertaining as the book, then I think its a success. AND if it makes enough money for the other three to be made it is for sure a success. I think we should start a New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn movie petition

i also agree the extra scenes and changes actually made the movie more entertaining , i read the book and in my opinion they followed it perfectly . rob and kristen did an amazing job they portrayed edward and bella iin agreat way and rocked it i really loved the movie, you gotta keep in mind that movies and books are totaly different the movie is made to entertain the eyes , books are made to inspire and to open up the imagination of the reader SO THE MOVIE ADAPTATION OF TWILIGHT ROCKED THATS MY OPINION AND IN STICKING TO IT

i thought the movie was great, but i didn’t like how they cut out little scenes here and there, it seems they rushed bella and edward’s relationship and we wernt able to see it grow into love. but hey they didn’t want a 3 hr movie on their hands. i hope newmoon will stay more true to the book and i cant wait for that

I am from Argentina and Twilight Premiere is on January 1st I wanted to know if they made Edward sparkle or shine in the movie because I cant see any trailer in wich he is shinning and than is really important for the movie cause is escencial for the 2nd movie in wich Edward tries to catch the Vulturius attention.
Please can somebody tell me if this part is included in the movie ..
