Kristen Stewart has been confirmed to join the cast (the leading role) of the movie “An American Girl”.

There’s been a lot of Internet buzz that Kristen Stewart will join the buzz-cut ranks for a movie titled, “An American Girl,” in which she would play a Marine. So is this real or just another Stewart rumor?

Gossip Cop can now confirm, via her rep, that it is TRUE!

“An American Girl,” to be directed by James Woods, is about a woman who after high school finds herself wasting her life drinking and drugging in a small town in Indiana. During one particular night of boozing, she has sex with a guy in a quarry. “She gets taped doing it on somebody’s phone and in a small town,” says Woods, “her reputation is ruined and on a drunken whim, she joins the Marines.”

Stewart’s character sobers up, learns a number of important life lessons as a Marine, and even returns to her hometown, where she rebuilds her life.

Stephenie Meyer updated her official website about her thoughts on making her book “The Host” into a movie.

Hey guys, great news! The Host is on its way to the big screen:

I’m so excited to be working with Nick Weschler, and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz to bring The Host to a visual format. They’ve all been a dream to work with, so lovely and collaborative, and I feel like we’re in a really good place to make a great movie together. And then to have Andrew Niccol writing and directing? Truly awesome. If you’ve never seen Gattaca, go watch it now. One of my favorite movies of all time. It’s such a great example of character driven science fiction, which is ideal for The Host, no? I’m having an absolute blast imagining different dream casts, which I would post if people didn’t take my silly blogs so seriously these days. I’m looking forward to seeing the cast lists you come up with in the fansite forums, and if any of them match mine.

So, very exciting. Yay Host!

XO
Steph

Kristen Stewart’s project “Adventureland” will open in cinemas in the UK on September 11 and she was interviewed by Sunday Herald for that.

KRISTEN STEWART is America’s latest teen screen idol. The star of passion-wracked vampire saga Twilight, she has the world at her feet. But as befits a young actress whose career is studded with misanthropic roles, Stewart can prove a prickly subject to interview.

“It’s like when I got the Twilight job and I had a media training session,” she says when I ask about her dislike of interviews. “I had been acting for eight years, and I thought, F*** you!’ I was like, Do you think you are going to wrap up all my little insecurities and throw them out the window? I have been working for eight years. Do you think you are going to prep me to put soundbites in my mouth? Not going to happen ‘” She trails off as her passionate flurry subsides.

Kristen recently sat down and talked with Fanbolt, about “Adventureland” which will be released on DVD on August 25th.

Neither of you will have memories from the ’80s. Was it fun to go back and explore the era?

Kristen Stewart: And who knows if the story actually could have taken place without that, because at least my aspect of the story is reliant on the fact that she can be a different person depending on who she’s with, and she can’t always be contacted. She’s not doing a Facebook depicting every emotion that she is going through. So she can get from people what she needs and she can sort of reinvent herself, which people do naturally. It’s not like she is being fake, it’s just that she has different aspects that she can show different people. I feel like nowadays everyone perceives you the same way. You can’t even have a private life away from your family; it’s like everything is very hands-on!

MTV posted an article about Kellan Lutz and his new movie ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’.

“I’m shooting ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ right now,” Kellan told us recently. “Which, for me, is one of the scariest thriller-type movies I grew up watching.”

As the Twilighters know, Emmett Cullen is a pretty tough dude -– and Lutz is no slouch himself. So, although the actor seems destined to be another of Freddy’s ill-fated teens, we’re hoping he’ll at least put up a pretty good fight.

“It’s very similar to [the original], but with new characters,” Lutz explained, assuring us that he’s not stepping into the role originated by Johnny Depp or anything. “It’s a lot of fun, and it’s actually pretty spooky to be on the set, on location seeing what we’re working with… you walk into these locations and it’s like, you’ve gotta watch your back.”

Peter Facinelli talks about his role Dr.Cooper in his latest project “Nurse Jackie” and fame after “Twilight” in a new interview with New York Post – PopWrap.

peter-and-edie-nurse-jackiePW: Would you have been able to handle this kind of attention at Kristen Stewart’s age?
Peter: I think both Kristen and Robert [Pattinson] have done an amazing job, I sometimes don’t know how to deal with it now. It’s a lot of pressure on us all, simply being at dinner can turn into an autograph session. I’m constantly thrown into situations that I haven’t been in before, but I’m always grateful that the fans are there, so I try to go out of my way to make sure they leave with a smile because I remember being a fan when I was younger. When I meet people I always try to put myself in their shows and think, how much would it hurt if I didn’t get that autograph?
