LATimes says that Juan Antonio Bayona is not confirmed as the director of Eclipse:

I hate to be the skunk at the picnic, but Summit Entertainment has not — I repeat NOT– hired “Orphanage” director Juan Antonio Bayona to direct “Eclipse,” the third film in the wildly successful “Twilight” series. That would be the exact opposite of the “news” you read earlier today, first in Nikki Finke’s post on Deadline Hollywood and later in Dave McNary’s seemingly authoritative Variety story, which baldly stated that Summit “has tapped Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona to direct ‘Eclipse.’ ”

By sheer coincidence, I had lunch today with Erik Feig, who’s president of production at Summit and the man most involved with managing the hit series of films. (“New Moon,” the second film in the series, begins production later this month with Chris Weitz at the helm.)

MTV has a new article about a possible director of Eclipse.

“Summit, declined to comment about Bayona directing the film, with a rep adding that the studio is still looking at several candidates to helm the project. Although many have been rumored to direct the film, including “New Moon” director Chris Weitz’s brother, Paul Weitz, at this point Bayona seems like he’s in the lead.

Most of Bayona’s work has been based in the horror genre. The Spanish director was the man behind “The Orphanage.” “Eclipse” would be Bayona’s English-language directorial debut if he and Summit can hash out a deal.”

Looks like Drew Barrymore in Eclipse may not be a just a rumour

Drew Barrymore says she is excited about the possiblity of joining the hugely popular ‘Twilight’ franchise.

Barrymore, 34, confirmed in a recent interview that she’s being considered for ‘Eclipse,’ the third movie in the blockbuster vampire saga that began with ‘Twilight’ last year, the Associated Press reports. “I’m one of the directors that is being talked about, which is great, because I’m a director now,” Barrymore said. “But, you know, they’ll make their choice.”

Chris Weitz (‘The Golden Compass’) is directing ‘New Moon,’ the second film based on Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series, after taking over the franchise from ‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke. ‘New Moon’ hits theaters this November, while ‘Eclipse’ is set for a summer 2010 release.

Barrymore made her feature directorial debut in the upcoming film ‘Whip It,’ which she also stars in along with Ellen Page, Jimmy Fallon and Juliette Lewis.

According with Variety, Dakota Fanning is negotiating to play alongside with Kristen in her next project, “The Runaways”. They also write as if Dakota was already confirmed for New Moon.
Thanks Sarah for the tip *_*

Dakota Fanning is negotiating to play lead singer Cheri Currie in “The Runaways,” the biopic of the ’70s all-girl band that already has “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart playing Joan Jett.

Scripted and directed by Floria Sigismondi, the film begins production in late spring.

At 15, Fanning is the same age Currie was when she made her debut with the Runaways as the lead singer who belted out hard-edged tunes like “Cherry Bomb.” Currie became caught up in drugs and a hard-partying lifestyle.

John and Art Linson are producing with River Road Entertainment’s Bill Pohlad, with Jett serving as exec producer.

Fanning, who most recently starred in “The Secret Life of Bees” and “Push,” and voiced “Coraline,” is also booked to play a vampire in the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon.”

According to accesshollywood.com Kristen Stewart Declined Presenting At Oscars. I don’t know if I believe this story.

At Sunday night’s 81st Annual Academy Awards, “Twilight’s” vampire teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson was a presenter alongside “Mamma Mia” star Amanda Seyfried.

It left many wondering: where was his “Twilight” co-star, Kristen Stewart?

Access’ Billy Bush got the answer on the red carpet, when he asked Kristen’s father, John Stewart, why she wasn’t presenting with Robert Pattinson.

John responded that Kristen would present at the Oscars, “When it’s a great movie, not just one that makes a lot of money.”
