Summit Entertainment is planning to a one-night-only screening of “Twilight” before New Moon’s arrival!

Edward & Bella in Twilight

Wanting to capitalize on the teen vampire movie craze it stirred last year, Summit Entertainment is planning to re-release “Twilight” in more than 2,000 theaters on Nov. 19, the night before the arrival of the highly anticipated sequel, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

Summit’s distribution executives have been in conversations with the nation’s theater owners about a one-night-only screening of “Twilight” at 9:00 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. just prior to the 12:01 a.m. showings of “New Moon.” Plans are just now being formalized, according to one person with knowledge of the matter, who said that exhibitors (who naturally have dollar signs in their eyes) are very high on the idea…

Summit just informed us that all the cast rumors regarding the production of ‘Breaking Dawn’ areFALSE!!

Please disregard any information regarding casting for BREAKING DAWN.

Lana Veenker also contacted us about the rumors:

For the record, we have not yet been contacted by production about this possibility and have not been hired to provide casting services.

There is no need to inundate our mailboxes with materials (or goodness forbid, swamp our phone lines or email inboxes). Our small staff and limited resources make it impossible for us to consider ANY submissions or inquiries at this time. Please save your money and spare us from the onslaught!

More informations at Lana’s blog.

If “Breaking Dawn” is going to be made into a movie is something that has pretty much already been confirmed by Summit. MTV talks to Ashley Greene about it.

The cast of “Twilight” has already wrapped the second film in the franchise, “New Moon,” and is just in the beginning stages of filming the third, “Eclipse.” But there has yet to be any official word that the series will extend to a fourth film.
With a fourth book in the “Twilight” series, there’s a good chance that Twilighters will get to see all their favorite vampires, werewolves and mortals come back for a film version of “Breaking Dawn.” But Ashley Greene, who will be MTV News’ VMA fashion correspondent on Sunday, can’t make any promises just yet.
“I think it’s expected to do a fourth one. I definitely think that they want to,” she told MTV News. “But again it depends on how the second one does, and the third one.”

Remember the documentary about Forks and the Twilight phenomenon we previously reported about? Summit Entertainment has now announced that they will be distributing the film and release it on DVD along with the release of the “New Moon” DVD next year.

281x211LOS ANGELES — Over the last few weeks, the team behind the first-ever documentary on the “Twilight” phenomenon has come to MTV News to unveil the initial details of their movie, as well as its one-sheet and teaser trailer. Now, they have even bigger news for Stephenie Meyer fans eagerly awaiting their flick: In a surprise move, Summit Home Entertainment has acquired the rights to distribute “Twilight in Forks.”

MTV News has learned that the studio behind the “Twilight” movies has spent the last several days negotiating with director Jason Brown and producers York Baur and Peter Cowles to distribute their independent film about the tiny Washington town that inspired a phenomenon. Summit plans to release the documentary in conjunction with the “New Moon” DVD release, both of which will hit stores in early 2010.

The deal will provide Habbo licensing rights to produce virtual furniture and accessories for the Twilight series of films.

Beginning this fall, in conjunction with the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon (November 20, 2009), Habbo will launch a New Moon-themed virtual space within Habbo’s 31 communities worldwide. Habbo users will have the opportunity to decorate their personal rooms with virtual goods from the Twilight series of films.

“Habbo’s understanding of the teen online audience means they can build a unique virtual experience for their users and increase the scope and interaction of the brand with our fans.” said Jack Pan, executive vice president of Marketing for Summit Entertainment. “This is the first time Summit has partnered with a virtual world, so we wanted to be sure to
work with a company with a proven track record for providing exciting, engaging activities.”

The Habbo virtual environment will provide a unique opportunity for teens to interact and hang out with other fans of the Twilight film series. It will include the creation of movie-branded rooms, new movie-related virtual items, activities and polls.

“Habbo is an established promotional platform for entertainment properties. We are extending Twilight’s brand presence online and creating innovative interactions between the biggest, most successful movie franchise for teens and its primary audience,” said Teemu Huuhtanen, executive vice president, Marketing and Business Development, Sulake Corporation and president, North America, Sulake Inc. “The campaigns within Habbo will allow us to link fans of the Twilight film series to their favorite movie series in a multitude of meaningful ways.”

There are currently Habbo communities in 31 countries on six continents. To date, over 142 million Habbo characters have been created and more than 13 million unique users worldwide visit Habbo each month. (source: Quantcast). More than 90% of Habbo users are 13-18 years old and the gender split is roughly equal (56% boys; 44% girls). Habbo users spend an average of 43 minutes on the site per visit.

Booboo Stewart recently spoke with Access Hollywood in a video interview (a few posts down) in which he told them that there will be a fifth installment of the Twilight saga. This is something Summit Entertainment now are confirming is false, there are no guarantees at this state that the movie will be split into two parts.

However, a rep for Summit Entertainment – the studio behind the hit vampire film franchise – has now told Access that BooBoo (who will join the big screen saga as wolfpack member Seth Clearwater in the next installment) was premature in his statements.

“We appreciate our young actor’s enthusiasm for the franchise and his role, but his comments about the number of films were unfortunately uninformed and not accurate,” the Summit rep said in a statement to Access.
