Christ Weitz revealed some New Moon DVD details.

Twilight: New Moon” director Chris Weitz recently revealed to Collider some of the features we can expect on the DVD.

“On the DVD there will be some deleted scenes, there will be a commentary with me and I think Kristen, Rob and Taylor at the same time, and some making of and behind the scenes type stuff”, he says.

He also states that there are around twenty scenes that didn’t make the film’s cut, yet viewers will still be able to see on the DVD.

Considering “New Moon” hasn’t even been released, I wouldn’t recommend getting too excited about the DVD just yet as it won’t be coming out until sometime next year. “Twilight: New Moon” hits theaters November 20 from Summit Entertainment.

Collider talked with ‘New Moon’ director Chris Weitz about the DVD:

On my way to do an interview with producer Wyck Godfrey, I happened to run into director Chris Weitz. Since I didn’t have a chance to ask a question during the press conference, I used my shared elevator ride to find out what extras would be on the DVD and how many minutes of deleted scenes “Twilight” fans could expect. While he confirmed the usual stuff like a commentary with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, the big news is he told me there would be around ten minutes of deleted scenes.

From the way Weitz spoke, I believe the DVD is going to have the deleted scenes placed back into the scene so you can watch the full scene play and not just see the stuff that was cut out. I’m not sure if the movie will be an extended edition, or if the deleted scenes will be in a separate area of the disc. I’m sure we’ll hear about that soon enough.

From News.com.au:

“I WAS observing this perfect circle of a meadow with a boy and a girl having a conversation. She was unremarkable, but he was glistening in the sun. He was beautiful. And he was a vampire.

“He was telling her how much he wanted to kill her and yet how much he loved her.”

So recounts Stephenie Meyer, the Mormon mother-of-three living on the edge of the Arizona desert, of her June 2003 dream that stirred her imagination to ask: what happened next?

It’s a question for which the 42 million readers of Meyer’s four-novel Twilight saga and viewers of the box-office hit Twilight film will always be grateful, because later that day the young mother wrote down the dream – and kept writing.

“Twilight” has quickly become the biggest home-video release of the year, selling 5.6 million units during its first eight days, according to trade publication Home Media Magazine.

The vampire romance took the crown from “Madgascar: Escape 2 Africa,” which has sold an estimated 5.3 million units since its February 6 release, according to Home Media research.

“Twilight,” like the “Madagascar” sequel, wasn’t released on the traditional Tuesday street date. Rather, the film arrived on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on Saturday, March 21 (”Madagascar” came out on a Friday).

Mar 23 2009

From EW.com.
Spoilers ahead if you didn’t gotten your DVD yet.

I had read that Robert Pattinson was a cut-up on the Twilight DVD commentary track with director Catherine Hardwicke and costar Kristen Stewart, but I needed to hear it (and 122 minutes of his British accent) for myself. The man’s obsession with Edward’s sculpted eyebrows really is quite entertaining. The highlights:

10:20 “See, that look is a very meaningful look,” he says, laughing, as Edward tries to read Bella’s mind the first time he see her in the cafeteria. Self-deprecating humor, check.

11:00 “I didn’t actually know they were rolling when we were doing this scene,” he says, chuckling (presumably) at how bad his acting is when Edward first gets a whiff of Bella in biology. “…I was just kinda cold.”

15:40 “That was really impressive…,” he says when Stewart’s Bella slips and falls on some ice. “What was impressive?” Stewart asks. “That falling over thing,” he says. You can hear her rolling her eyes. “That’s tough…. Do you just fall on your ass?” “Yeah, I just basically fell down.” (This was funny, because he was actually trying to be serious, I think. It won’t happen again.)

17:00 Pattinson insists we all have to see the audition tape he made of the scene where Edward returns from his hunting trip and finally speaks to Bella in biology. “It’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen in your entire life.” He says he performed it with a guy, who did a woman’s voice. It’s all very earnest. “Dude, I’m glad you didn’t send that, right?” Hardwicke asks, sounding genuinely concerned that if he had, he wouldn’t have gotten the role. (That’s why he didn’t send it.)
