It is yet another success for The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The film’s soundtrack has been nominated for not one but two Grammy awards at the January 31, 2010 award ceremony.

According to TwilightSource, “The entire Twilight soundtrack was nominated in the ‘Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media’ category. Decode by Paramore was nominated in the ‘Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media’ category.”

Congratulations, to all those involved this is indeed great news!

**So, I guess you noticed I wrote “or Twilight’s,” it’s because TwilightSource said Twilight’s soundtrack while the source of the article said New Moon’s. I think we’ll have to wait to know which is which! ;)

New Moon fans think that the movie deserves some Oscar nominations, well it does deserve!! I know I do think so! ;)

Critics certainly reacted strongly — and often negatively — to “New Moon,” but moviegoers came out in droves, and after the mega blockbuster “The Dark Knight” failed to nab a Best Picture nod in 2008, the Academy might be looking to make a change. Or not. The idea of vampires joining the likes of Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman in “Invictus“) seems a bit of a stretch. Yet the Twilighters MTV News spoke to at a recent fan event in Times Square were certain “New Moon” deserved some Oscar love.

“They always give the [nominations] to the boring movies,” said Vanesa Reyes, who said she and her friends planned to see the movie four or five times over its first weekend. “Let’s give young people a chance to win some Oscars. It’s time for a change.” …

New Moon‘ is the third-biggest opening weekend movie of all time with $140.7 million!! WAW :)

#1 “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” ($140.7 million)
#2 “The Blind Side” ($34.5 million)
#3 “2012” ($26.5 million)
#4 “Planet 51” ($12.6 million)
#5 “A Christmas Carol” ($12.2 million)

On Friday alone, “New Moon” managed to earn $72.7 million, surpassing “The Dark Knight” as the single best opening day in cinema history. A hefty $26.3 million chunk of that Friday change came purely from midnight showings, propelling “New Moon” past “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” with the highest-grossing midnight opening of all time. “New Moon” also debuted with the biggest November opening ever and the third-best opening weekend of all time, taking that distinction away from “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.” …

Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart won Favorite Male Movie Star and Favorite Female Actress in the “Just So You Know” Awards.

It’s Team Jacob vs. Team Edward again. If you don’t already know, there is a website called, ‘Just So You Know‘ which centers around all things teen-related. In its first-ever ‘Just So You Know Awards, The Twilight Saga’s Taylor Lautner has won over co-star Robert Pattinson in the category of ‘Favorite Male Movie Star.’ Kristen Stewart won in the category of ‘Favorite Female Actress‘ over such contenders as Megan Fox and Ellen Page.

According to Celebuzz, “Lautner dominated the Favorite Male Movie Star category, racking up an astounding 46 percent of the vote, compared with Pattinson’s relatively paltry 16 percent.” A total of 45,000 votes from its readers were tabulated, yeilding those results.

What do you think about the results? Did they get it right?

Taylor Lautner was the only one of the twilight cast to attended the Spike TV’s Scream 2009 yesterday, and only at the show *no red carpet! :( *. I’ve added pictures to the gallery of Taylor on stage.

Taylor won for Breakout Performance-Male and Twilight for Best Fantasy Movie. According with the site SocialiteLife the categories that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won (Best Male and Female Fantasy Actor), weren’t presented during the show and the footage from New Moon, looked pretty much everything like what has been seen before. So they are guessing a surprise for the fans will happen at the telecast on Oct 27th at 10pm on Spike TV.

According with HITFIX, we will have the cast of ‘New Moon‘, presenting a new footage at Spike TV Scream 2009 Awards.

The network announced today that the pseudo awards show will feature cast members from “New Moon” as well as the debut of new footage from what is expected to be one of November’s biggest releases. Who will appear from the cast is unclear, but it would be surprising for Summit to drag Kristen Stewart or Robert Pattinson from Vancouver for the event while they are still shooting “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” Our guess? “New Moon” vampire and “Underworld” franchise star Michael Sheen or the members of the Wolfpack (with shirts on for this crowd).
