Directors are always responsible for taking care of all the movies’ scenes, but when it comes to New Moon’s kissing scene, director Chris Weitz just sits back and let the stars do their work.

How exactly does a person direct two of the biggest movie stars in the world during a make-out scene? How do you approach the task if one’s playing a vampire and the other is still in her teens? For Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s “New Moon” lip-lock, director Chris Weitz just sat back and shut up.

“Capturing those [scenes] is really a question of just allowing the actors to do their work,” Weitz told MTV News in a recent interview. “They know their characters. They know the tone they’re supposed to hit.” …

Examiner sat down with Edi Gathegi in an EXCLUSIVE interview.

resized_EdiGathegi2Are you excited for everyone to finally see New Moon?

Edi: I am! I’m very, very excited. I think it’s gonna be pretty awesome. I talked to Taylor the other day, and he’s actualy seeing the final cut right now as we speak. (Oct. 30th)

Have you seen that yet?

Edi: I saw it a month and a half ago, and now it’s the final cut. I didn’t see the final, final cut.

I spoke to Billy Burke a few days ago, and he said that the film came out beautifully.

Edi: Billy Burke is one of my favorite actors from that movie. …

MTV caught up with Death Cab for Cutie and they gave their opinion on New Moon, well the “shirtless dudes” in the movie.

Death Cab for Cutie have seen “New Moon” — a benefit of recording the first single from the film’s soundtrack — and they said they really liked it. But there was one thing they found sort of odd …

“It’s really good, we went to the premiere,” DCFC guitarist Chris Walla said backstage at rehearsals for the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards. “[But] there are plenty of shirtless dudes! When the shirtless-dude factor happens, it seems to me like it was done with a little ‘Wink-wink, nudge-nudge.’ It’s like, ‘OK, I’m going to take my shirt off at this moment …’ ” …

Radar Online recently interviewed Billy Burke (Charlie Swan).

RadarOnline.com: Did you know what you were getting into when you signed up for the first movie?

Billy Burke: I had good idea that it would have an audience. But, I had no idea that it would become this cultural phenomenon. I just really thought that it was such a great love story.

RadarOnline.com: What kind of advice do you give your young co-stars now that they’re experiencing this high level of fame?

Billy Burke: They don’t need any advice from me. They’re all doing very well. You have to let people go through the machine the way they see fit and so far I’ve seen them get treated with nothing but respect. Only advice I would impart is be treated with respect and try not to be full of s**t!

Fancast also interviewed Michael Sheen (Aro).

Enhancing the pedigree of The Twilight Saga: New Moon is Michael Sheen, the star of last year’s Oscar-nominee Frost/Nixon, taking on the role of Aro, the head of the Volturi vampire clan with the power to read thoughts with a touch. He spoke about concocting his characterization, and aside from author Stephenie Meyer, you can bet no one else in this youthful cast is going to share these particular influences.

“It was from Stephenie in the book,” Sheen started. “She describes Aro as having a voice like feathers, so that made me think about what would it sound like if someone had a voice like feathers. And then, as I was starting to play around with it, I reminded myself a little bit of the Blue Meanie. You remember the Blue Meanie in Yellow Submarine and the hand that goes with it? And then I was also thinking about characters from when I was a kid watching stuff that really freaked me out and the Blue Meanie really freaked me out. The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – you know, “Lollipops” and all that. I liked the idea of a character who on the surface appears to be very friendly and thinks of himself as just being a sentimental old fool, a romantic at heart, and then he wants to eat your eyes.”

Fancast recently sat down with Dakota for an interview.

Dakota Fanning was just like any other teenage girl, a big fan of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight books, which carried over to being a huge fan of the first film. In The Twilight Saga: New Moon, she’s living the dream of Twi-hards everywhere by actually getting the chance to be a part of this world by playing Jane, a scary member of the Volturi, the ruling council of vampires. Fortunately for her, she’s been in the game long enough not to get starstruck.

“Especially going into this movie with a cast that already knew each other really well because they’ve already done a movie together, you’re always kind of like the new kid coming in,” Fanning said. “But they were just so nice and so welcoming, and just a really great cast so it was kind of hard to be star struck even though you’re such big fans of them and excited to meet them, but they’re just so nice and you become friends pretty quick.”
