Meyer, on hand for the Nov. 20 “Twilight: New Moon” debut, recounted how a dream in 2003 led to the book and movie series.

“One of [the two people in the dream] was a beautiful sparkling boy and one was just a girl who was human and normal and they were having this conversation and the boy was a vampire,” Meyer told Oprah. “He was trying to explain to her how much he cared about her and at the same time how much he wanted to kill her.” …

On Friday the 13th, there’s going to be a New Moon on the Oprah Show complete with vampires and werewolves.  Stephanie Meyer has announced on her website that she is planning only one interview to promote the next movie in the Twilight Saga, New Moon,

“You know I’ve been doing the hermit thing this last year, in so far as media is concerned, and I’m not changing that now, but I am making an exception. I’m doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. Hi everybody!

I wanted to apprise you all of a few upcoming things.

You know I’ve been doing the hermit thing this last year, in so far as media is concerned, and I’m not changing that now, but I am making an exception. I’m doing this for a good reason: I am so pleased and amazed and thrilled with what Chris Weitz has done with New Moon that I want to talk about it, and to show my support for him. And since I’m only doing one interview, better make it big. Really big. So….I will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday, November 13th. Check the local listings on Oprah’s website to find out what time it will be on where you live.

Of course, most of the questions for Oprah will be designed for a broader audience than just die-hard Twilight fans, and I imagine people who read this site and other fansites will already know most of the answers. To rectify this, I’m going to answer your more specific questions on-line. The official Twilight Saga website (www.TheTwilightSaga.com) will be taking any New Moon movie-related questions you might have for me, and then I’ll answer those most frequently asked. I’ll post the answers on the Twilight Saga website and also here on my own site. Questions can be submitted to TheTwilightSaga.com from noon (Eastern Standard Time) on Monday, November 9th through noon Tuesday, November 10th. The answers will be posted Monday, November 16th—or New Moon Premiere Day, as it is known around my house. Stephenie Meyer updated her official website about her thoughts on making her book “The Host” into a movie.

Hey guys, great news! The Host is on its way to the big screen:

I’m so excited to be working with Nick Weschler, and Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz to bring The Host to a visual format. They’ve all been a dream to work with, so lovely and collaborative, and I feel like we’re in a really good place to make a great movie together. And then to have Andrew Niccol writing and directing? Truly awesome. If you’ve never seen Gattaca, go watch it now. One of my favorite movies of all time. It’s such a great example of character driven science fiction, which is ideal for The Host, no? I’m having an absolute blast imagining different dream casts, which I would post if people didn’t take my silly blogs so seriously these days. I’m looking forward to seeing the cast lists you come up with in the fansite forums, and if any of them match mine.

So, very exciting. Yay Host!

It looks like there is going to be a movie of “The Host” also written by Stephanie Meyer.

Producers Nick Wechsler, Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz have used their own money to acquire screen rights to “The Host,” the first adult novel written by Stephenie Meyer, author of the “Twilight” series.
Andrew Niccol will write the script and direct.

Meyer’s novel is a love story set in the near future on Earth, which has been assimilated by an alien species of benevolent parasites that call themselves “Souls.” One such soul, the Wanderer, is fused with a dying human named Melanie Stryder, in an attempt to locate the last pocket of surviving humans on Earth.

Wechsler and the Schwartzes are separately teamed on “The Road,” the John Hillcoat-directed adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel that will be released Nov. 25 by the Weinstein Co. They are also producing the Paul Schrader-scripted “The Dying of the Light” and an adaptation of Pete Takada book “An Eye at the Top of the World,” which Ryne Douglas Pearson is adapting.

In addition to writing four volumes of the “Twilight” series, Meyer has been heavily involved in the screen transfers, and she spurned several overtures for “The Host.” The producers continued lobbying the author and her UTA reps with a significant offer, a strong vision for the project and a collaborative spirit. Meyer eventually said yes.

Parade Magazine has posted an article, featuring word from representatives, about “Twilight”-author Stephanie Meyer being sued once again over claims that she plagiarized the fourth novel in the Twilight series, “Breaking Dawn”. Stephenie has earlier been sued for plagiarism by her former college roommate for plagiarizing the whole Twilight series.

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer was sued Wednesday over claims that she plagiarized the fourth novel in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, according to TMZ. Fellow author Jordan Scott claims that the book is very similar to her 2006 novel The Nocturne.

21-year-old Scott’s publisher claims that Breaking Dawn has “striking and substantial” similarities to The Nocturne.

Scott claims there are several coincidences in the two plots, including a wedding, a post-wedding sex scene, a woman becoming sick because she’s carrying a child with “evil powers” and the death of a main character.
