Parade Magazine has posted an article, featuring word from representatives, about “Twilight”-author Stephanie Meyer being sued once again over claims that she plagiarized the fourth novel in the Twilight series, “Breaking Dawn”. Stephenie has earlier been sued for plagiarism by her former college roommate for plagiarizing the whole Twilight series.

default-stephanie-meyerTwilight author Stephenie Meyer was sued Wednesday over claims that she plagiarized the fourth novel in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn, according to TMZ. Fellow author Jordan Scott claims that the book is very similar to her 2006 novel The Nocturne.

21-year-old Scott’s publisher claims that Breaking Dawn has “striking and substantial” similarities to The Nocturne.

Scott claims there are several coincidences in the two plots, including a wedding, a post-wedding sex scene, a woman becoming sick because she’s carrying a child with “evil powers” and the death of a main character.

Stephenie Meyer updated her website with an end of the summer recap. Check it out!

August 17, 2009

Hey everybody! I hope you all had a great summer. I’m sorry I don’t update more, but it’s crazy how busy you can be without really having anything to update about. I decided to do an end of the summer recap like I did last year—just the books and music and movies I enjoyed most. I love to share good stuff.

First books. I didn’t have a ton of time to read this summer, but I did discover one really wonderful two-book series. Dreamhunter and Dreamquake by Elizabeth Knox. It is like nothing else I’ve ever read. The characters are so real, you’ll feel like you know exactly what they look like and how their voices sound and what they would say or do in any given situation. More than that, you’ll want to hang out with them. Then the world is so amazing and unique. You will want to go there. You will want to walk into “the Place.” And you will want to sleep in a dream opera.

I also got an early look at a book I’ve been eagerly awaiting: Catching Fire, the sequel to Suzanne Collins’ phenomenal The Hunger Games. It not only lived up to my high expectations, it surpassed them. It’s just as exciting as The Hunger Games, but even more gut wrenching, because you already know these characters, you’ve already suffered with them. Suzanne takes the story places I wasn’t expecting, and she’s never afraid to take it to very hard places. Stunning. You won’t sleep when you’re reading this one. It hits shelves September 1st. I suggest beginning in the early morning and clearing your calendar for the day.

Then music. No matter how busy I am, I can always listen to music, so I have a longer list of recommendations here. So, awesome CDs I discovered this summer:

* Animal Collective — Merriweather Post Pavillion
* Silversun Pickups — Swoon
* White Rabbits — It’s Frightening
* The Dead Weather — Horehound
* Grizzly Bear — Veckatimest
* Meese — Broadcast

Craig Ferguson did a very interesting parody of Stephenie on his show last week. In the skit, Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling has a talk show called “JK” where she interviews Stephenie and completely bashes her. Oh, and apparently Stephenie is a guy haha!

Thanks IHOR!

Stephenie Meyer will be immortalized in the comic book series Female Force! How cool is that?!

Stephenie MeyerThe creative force behind The Twilight Saga, Meyer has been selected for membership into a very exclusive club. Joining the ranks of Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Princess Diana, she will be immortalized in the comic book series Female Force.

The bio comic will examine Meyer’s rise to popularity with the Twilight Saga novels, the movie franchise, and her plans for the future. We have it on good authority that the story will be narrated by a very recognizable and iconic vampire. (We’re guessing it won’t be Lestat.) An alternate 40-page collector’s edition will also include a history of Forks, Washington.

The band Meese had the chance to meet Stephenie Meyer last Tuesday. They shared his encounter including a picture!

NathanStephenieHi guys, Nathan here. Now for something that you probably didn’t know about Ben and me. We’re into Twilight. Like IN TO it. It started when we were visiting our record label almost a year ago and they had a bunch of copies of the book laying around and I needed something to read on the airplane on the way back to Denver. Anyways – it was one of those obsessed-at-first-page type scenarios where I didn’t put the book down for two days and two nights until it was completely absorbed by my eyes and my brain. If you’d of told me earlier in my life that I’d be reading vampire love story saga I’d call you crazy, but sometimes life throws you curveballs…

Thanks Catharine!

Another article on MTV bring the news that Muse will be unveiling “Uprising,” the first single off their new album, The Resistance in the MTV Video Music Awards on September 13. The article also talks about the love of Stephenie Meyer for the band, and how their music inspired her in writing “Twilight”.

“I was in Forks [Washington, the city where 'Twilight' is based] with my sister — before any of the books had come out, just sort of scoping it out,” Meyer said. “I was working on ‘Eclipse’ at the time, and I had [Muse's album] Absolution in, and ‘Hysteria’ came on and, in my mind, the kiss scene between [Bella] and Jacob just choreographed itself, down to how many steps he took toward her. So whenever I read that now, I always hear the song in my mind.”
