This week, Vanity Fair brings us an interview with one of the vampires, Peter Facinelli in which he talks about the differences between “Twilight” and “New Moon”, his role as father figure on and of set and much more.

Carlisle_BellaHaving featured the members of Twilight’s Wolf Pack last week, VF.com is switching its allegiance to vampires. On a frigid day in New York City, I caught up with actor Peter Facinelli in between his “medical” commitments—he plays a human doctor on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie and a bloodsucking one, the 400-year-old Dr. Carlisle Cullen, in the Twilight saga—to discuss how New Moon differs from the first Twilight movie, his role as a father figure on and off the set, and what he really thinks of his fellow vampires.

As the patriarch of the Cullen clan, have you assumed a similar fatherly role with the cast?
You know, on Twilight I feel like they looked to me as the father figure, but because we became so close, I’m more of an older brother now.

Moviefone recently talked with Peter Facinelli about New Moon.

“I think people should be excited about the action that the second one’s going to bring,” beamed Facinelli. “We still have this love triangle between Rob, Kristen and Taylor that grows in the second one, but as a guy I love to see some action too, and we have a lot more action with the werewolves coming out in full form. That’s going to be fun to watch. It’s something that when you read the books you can imagine, but when you see it it’s a whole other thing.

“‘New Moon’ is going to have a lot more action than ‘Twilight,’ which I’m excited about, and then take the action in ‘New Moon’ and double it in ‘Eclipse.’ I get to be a part of that action, which is fun because Carlyle is this calm figure. I think the vampire brawls are going to be exciting.”

More here.

**Thanks Andie!

At least you know he doesn’t have a Twiiter account. Lol. Down with the posers.

Peter Facinelli was interviewed by MTV about “New Moon”, “Eclipse”, his character and much more.

281x211MTV: Well, we certainly don’t want to reduce you to a Vegas-like thing. Like you’re doing an Elvis imitation.

Facinelli: [Laughs.] No, no. Really, in order to play those roles, you have to get into the whole spirit of the character. I have to have on my white makeup and my contact lenses, otherwise it just doesn’t work. Otherwise, it looks like Peter Facinelli trying to play something; it’s weird. But I could say that’s one of my favorite lines from “New Moon”: “Like everything else in life, I just had to decide what to do with what I was given.” But that’s me saying it, not Carlisle. [In "New Moon"] Carlisle says it, and it’s very Carlisle-esque.

MTV: Well, then, tell us about the day you got to deliver the line on the “New Moon” set. Was it everything you had hoped it would be?

Facinelli: I hope so. God, I hope so. You know, it was a line that wasn’t in the script. It was in the book, and I asked Chris Weitz if we could put it in the movie, because I liked that line.
