Are you excited for everyone to finally see New Moon?

Edi: I am! I’m very, very excited. I think it’s gonna be pretty awesome. I talked to Taylor the other day, and he’s actualy seeing the final cut right now as we speak. (Oct. 30th)

Edi: I saw it a month and a half ago, and now it’s the final cut. I didn’t see the final, final cut.

I spoke to Billy Burke a few days ago, and he said that the film came out beautifully.

So how does it feel that this time around you guys as individuals are so much more important with the fans for the promotional aspects. So, how is that for you? There was something frightening about Laurent in Twilight, and as the premier of New Moon approaches RadarOnline.com spoke exclusively with the man who plays him, Edi Gathegi, at the Suite Life: Skybar Emmy Suite on Thursday in Los Angeles and learned more about the seemingly menacing man. However, without his dreadlocks wig and red eyes, Gathegi is less intimidating in real life and actually pretty funny. He told us he accomplished his ultimate goal in New Moon – scaring Stephenie Meyer!

Gathegi confirmed that he’s seen a cut of “New Moon” and said it follows Stephenie Meyer’s novel closely. “That’s the whole point of having Stephenie Meyer as a consultant for all the books, because you know she has final approval and final say and they’re not going to do anything to upset the fan base,” he told the audience. “You guys are the driving force behind this entire thing.”

The 30-year-old spent about three weeks on the “New Moon” set and was met with a few happy changes from the first film. For one, the cloudy red contact lenses used to give the vampires their signature scarlet stares were replaced with sleeker models more closely resembling regular contacts. For another, Gathegi finally got to wear shoes. “God bless Chris Weitz,” he said. “In “Twilight’ we didn’t have shoes, because in the book they don’t have shoes — you know, nomadic vampires don’t have shoes. And I was cold, I was froze to death! But Chris was like, ‘Well, wear shoes.’ ”
