Fancast recently sat down with Dakota for an interview.

Dakota Fanning was just like any other teenage girl, a big fan of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight books, which carried over to being a huge fan of the first film. In The Twilight Saga: New Moon, she’s living the dream of Twi-hards everywhere by actually getting the chance to be a part of this world by playing Jane, a scary member of the Volturi, the ruling council of vampires. Fortunately for her, she’s been in the game long enough not to get starstruck.

“Especially going into this movie with a cast that already knew each other really well because they’ve already done a movie together, you’re always kind of like the new kid coming in,” Fanning said. “But they were just so nice and so welcoming, and just a really great cast so it was kind of hard to be star struck even though you’re such big fans of them and excited to meet them, but they’re just so nice and you become friends pretty quick.”

MTV caught up once again with another star on the red carpet at the premiere! And it’s Jane ;) Dakota Fanning!

In the “Twilight” franchise, the Cullen and Volturi vampires have taken divergent paths. One coven lives peacefully in rural Washington, the other rules the vampire world from Italy. But they share one key trait: They can smell blood. The Cullens avoid the temptation for human blood and instead dine on other animals, while the Volturi feast on people.

So what smell would force Dakota Fanning, who plays Volturi baddie Jane, to do a little human gorging of her own? “Orange chicken from Panda Express, which I had earlier today,” she told MTV News with a laugh at the “New Moon” red-carpet premiere. “So if someone smelled like orange chicken, I would for sure have to eat them. It’s the best! It’s so good!”

While hanging out on the carpet, Fanning revealed how she was cast in the film following the box-office success of “Twilight.” “I didn’t audition, but when they came to me seeing if I wanted to be in it, …

I just came across this on the website for ‘Ellen‘. Dakota Fanning will be on ‘Ellen‘ Monday, November 16, 2009

I’ve been watching DAKOTA FANNING grow into a beautiful young woman over the years, and I feel like I’m responsible for her success. She once played a younger version of me on my sitcom — and now she’s in one of the biggest movies of the year, “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.” She gets to work with Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner… I’m sure she’ll thank me when she’s on the show today.

Dakota Fanning is on the cover of December/January 2010 issue of Teen Vogue which hits stand November 16th. Check out the interview she did with the shoot and behind-the-scenes pictures in our gallery.

Certainly, Dakota’s role in the Twilight sequel didn’t seem to present too much of an acting challenge. As Jane, a pint-size Volturi vampire who possesses the power to cause pain without even touching her victims, she “kind of just looked at people.” Asked how she prepared, Dakota laughs. “I wasn’t in my mirror like Zoolander, doing the Blue Steel!” she says. “The red contacts were enough.” The actress was drawn to the project for pretty much the same reason any teen would be: It sounded like fun. “I read all four Twilight books in one week. It’s such a phenomenon, and I wanted to be able to say that I was a part of it.”

Making New Moon also gave Dakota a chance to get to know Kristen Stewart before they started shooting the upcoming Runaways biopic. “We became really close,” Dakota says, “like we’d known each other for our whole lives. We talk all the time.” Their off-set friendship added a layer of peculiarity to the proceedings on the New Moon set—”I’ve never been such an evil character, and because I do know Kristen so well, being mean to her was really weird. It’s like, Sorry, dude!” …

iesb.net has a new interview with The Volturi’s Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning, Cameron Bright and Jamie Campbell Bower.

newmoon_logo_Q: Dakota, as such a fan of this series, what were the highlights of playing Jane?

Dakota: I think the highlight of playing Jane was getting to wear that costume and having the red contact lenses. I was really excited about that, and getting to play an evil character.

Q: Do you get to do more in Eclipse?

Dakota: It’s about the same. I’m still not very much in the movie.

Q: What did you think when you saw yourself for the first time with the red lenses in?

Dakota: It’s really scary. I think it makes anyone look automatically evil. It was really fun. You get used to them, after a while. You can see pretty good, but it’s still kind of weird.

Q: Michael, did it take you a while to come up with your voice in the film, or was that an instant thought when you read the script?

Michael: No, it was from Stephenie in the book. She describes Aro as having a voice like feathers, so that made me think about what would it sound like …
