Calgary Herald did an interview with the Volturi leader in ‘New Moon‘ Marcus played by Christopher Heyerdahl.

Congratulations on your Gemini nomination for Sanctuary. It seems as though you’ve been involved in a lot of sci-fi shows with very fanatic fan bases.

(Laugh) Passionate is what I call them.

How do you find Twilight fans differ from the typical sci-fi fanatic? What makes them special?

Well, so far — and I say so far because I have a feeling that after New Moon the demographic is going to change dramatically. I think that guys are going to be able to accept it without losing face.

Ah, you’re referring to the action scenes?

Yeah, absolutely. It’s pretty sexy, masculine stuff, I tell ya’, with the Volturi coming in, and the Wolf Pack. But so far it’s basically a female fanbase and I think that women allow themselves to admit to the world — guys have a harder problem, though I think not so deep down we’re just as into it as anybody else — that whole idea of very dangerous, sensual, animalistic, pure, everlasting love. …

Movie Mazzupial has an interview with some members of the Volturi. They interviewed Charlie Bewley, Cameron Bright and Christopher Heyerdahl while in Brisbane on a Twilight Tour.

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

MM: Right, well on that note then; how do you think audiences are going to react to the New Moon film?
Charlie: I think it differs from Twilight for a few different reasons. But I think the main reason is this film you can take your whole family to watch and everyone is going to take something out of it. Whereas the first film was a bit of an emotional play between three characters, this one has a lot of action. Chris Weitz is an excellent CGI expert and is obviously very good at directing high-action movies like in the past. This one is, like I said, you can take anyone to this one, it’s got something for everyone. The stakes are up, which is different from the first one as well so it’s going to be an exciting film.

Cameron: Yeah, for this one another part of it that’s really good for people is the last one was really about those three main people, Bella, Edward and Jacob. And now you’re getting so much more. You’re getting the wolf pack introduced, us, the Volturi, introduced and there’s just a lot more elements to it to make it a deeper story.

Scifiwire talked with Christopher Heyerdahl, who will play Marcus in ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon”:

Over his career, Christopher Heyerdahl has played a Wraith, a demon, Bigfoot and now the centuries-old vampire Marcus, in the cast of the upcoming sequel film The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

It’s perhaps one of the highest-profile roles for the versatile Canadian actor, who is known to fans of Syfy’s Sanctuary, Stargate Atlantis and dozens of films and TV shows.

“Well, it’s a little independent film I’m helping out with,” the good-natured Heyerdahl said with a chuckle and tongue firmly in cheek. “This guy, poor old Marcus, is a 3,000-odd-years-old vampire who has spent at least the last 2,000 of it with a broken heart. Really, one of the main reasons to play that character and have anything to do with that series is my niece, who is absolutely obsessed with this series of books. To see how it has had such an effect on the teenage female community throughout the world is amazing.”
