Charlie Bewley talked to UK’s OK! Magazine concerning Eclipse and how different it is from the first two films!

charlie-bewleyCharlie Bewley, who plays Volturi vampire Demetri in Twilight Saga: New Moon and Eclipse, says the next installment is set to be very different than the first two films. Speaking exclusively to OK.co.uk, Charlie revealed that director David Slade is going to add a nasty tone to the vampire love story.

He told us: “David is a master of mood. Eclipse has this different mood about it, it’s dark and vicious. You get to see the brutal nature of vampires and what they are really capable of, which is something we haven’t really seen in the first two movies.”

He said: “They are very different directors. David understands what each scene needs [to create the dark mood] – absolute fine tuning. He might stop the scene halfway through and just tweak something before saying: ‘Go …

  • Guys, you’re new, introduce yourselves to us.
  • How was it to work with so many new co-stars?
  • How do you deal with all the hype?
  • Is this the reason why you became an actor?
  • Would you like being a heartthrob like Rob Pattinson?
  • How did you prepare for your role?

And the questions asked in the 2nd part are:

  • What is harder to play: a human being or a vampire?
  • What is the main difference between both movies?

EW recently sat down with the Volturi guard Demetri played by Charlie Bewly where he talked about snowboarding, red contact lenses, and close fan encounters in Italy!

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Have you been recognized more often?
CHARLIE BEWLEY: I don’t think so. Nothing’s really changed for me—I think it’s more of an online buzz right now. I expect maybe before Christmas that everyone would see this movie and if they keep their eyes peeled, they’ll notice me in it. I don’t expect the same adulation as people like, even Kellan [Lutz] or Ashley [Greene]. I think they got the second wave of everything after Taylor, Rob, and Kristen. But it’s still wonderful to be part of. It’s opened many doors for me.

How did you get the part?
I was auditioning in Vancouver. You know like any actor is before they hit something, I was waiting tables, bartending, hoping something great would come around. Sure enough, New Moon pops up. Back in the end of January, they came to town because they switched the production from Oregon to Vancouver, so luckily enough they were casting the roles up there.

FearNet has an exclusive interview with Charlie Bewley.

What new fans will New Moon bring into the Twilight fold?

I think New Moon will bring in a whole male demographic, who I think will be more receptive towards the primal characters in these films – the Volturi, the guards, and the werewolves. They’ll be a good solid fan base there. Not to mention the fact that my character is very sexually ambiguous, and therefore I hope to claim the gay demographic. [Laughs.] I did a very flamboyant portrayal of Demetri.

The Twilight films are PG-13, and because of that there are certain restrictions they’ll always have to limit themselves to. What would you want to see yourself do, or even the rest of your cast, if there were no ratings boundaries?

Good question! There is a scene in New Moon where our “food” is brought into the dining room — the “food” being, as the books state, a bunch of well-fed American tourists who have come to appreciate Volterra. I would say the more vicious aspect of our characters, whereby we go in and absolutely rip these guys to shreds in the most primal, vicious, aggressive fashion. I think you’re going to see a little bit of that when it comes to David Slade’s Eclipse. I don’t think it’s going to go that far, but vampires could go a lot further. We are a vicious breed.

Movie Mazzupial has an interview with some members of the Volturi. They interviewed Charlie Bewley, Cameron Bright and Christopher Heyerdahl while in Brisbane on a Twilight Tour.

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

MM: Right, well on that note then; how do you think audiences are going to react to the New Moon film?
Charlie: I think it differs from Twilight for a few different reasons. But I think the main reason is this film you can take your whole family to watch and everyone is going to take something out of it. Whereas the first film was a bit of an emotional play between three characters, this one has a lot of action. Chris Weitz is an excellent CGI expert and is obviously very good at directing high-action movies like in the past. This one is, like I said, you can take anyone to this one, it’s got something for everyone. The stakes are up, which is different from the first one as well so it’s going to be an exciting film.

Cameron: Yeah, for this one another part of it that’s really good for people is the last one was really about those three main people, Bella, Edward and Jacob. And now you’re getting so much more. You’re getting the wolf pack introduced, us, the Volturi, introduced and there’s just a lot more elements to it to make it a deeper story.

You can read the entire interview here.
