Robert Pattinson, at the UK Fan Event, is impressed by how New Moon’s fame has exploded suddenly!

alex-meraz-rachael-ray_lThe Twilight Saga: New Moon talk show takeover has begun. This morning, Wolf Pack member Alex Meraz stopped by Rachael Ray to surprise three teens who received Twilight makeovers courtesy of New Moon costume designer Tish Monaghan. (As someone who always coveted her sister’s red hair, it made me die a little to see a redhead dye her hair black to look like Alice’s.)

The girls were happy to see Meraz, but didn’t go insane, presumably because he was clothed. “Shirtless, always,”

9News talked to Alex Meraz and Kiowa Gordon.

DENVER – Just days before the new Twilight movie “New Moon” hits theaters, two actors from the film stopped by 9NEWS to talk about life behind the scenes.

Alex Meraz who plays the werewolf, Paul, and Kiowa Gordon who plays his pack brother, Embry Call, say the real life actors are much like the tribal brothers in the movie.

“We definitely have bonded and we really are a pack. That’s the good thing about these films is that it’s really rare that you get to work with people you enjoy. We even text each other to make sure we’re doing well. We’re like real brothers,” Meraz said.

The actors who play the wolf pack spend much of the movie shirtless and Meraz says a lot of the work for the movie was in the gym.

“The workouts, we called them the three ‘Ps.’ It was protein, push-ups and pushing each other. It’s kind of what we did to get each other through the workouts to get us in shape to do all these shirtless scenes,” he said.

MTV posted 5 fun facts about ‘New Moon‘ that we don’t know! Lets check ‘em out.

'281x211

The Swans Have a Not-So-Extreme Makeover

As any good Twilighter knows, the original film was shot in Portland, Oregon, but the sequels were moved to Vancouver, necessitating re-creations of such key locations as the Cullen house and Forks High. When production designer David Brisbin oversaw the “rebuild” of Charlie Swan’s house, he studied the original location obsessively and created exactly what he had seen — with one key addition. Take a look at the “New Moon” trailer and you’ll see a scene where Jacob leaps parcours-style up a tree and into Bella’s bedroom window. In the original “Twilight,” that bay window wasn’t there; Brisbin, however, felt that the moment was important enough to make the tweak.

Hell Hath No Fury

Actor Chaske Spencer stands 6-foot-2 and put on 15 pounds of muscle to play Sam Uley in “New Moon.” Kristen Stewart is 5-foot-5 …

VF.com has three exclusive interviews from some of the newest Twilight saga cast members. Check it out!

What was your favorite scene to shoot?
AM: The cliff diving scene was the most fun because the whole Wolf Pack was there and we were jumping off these 50-foot scaffolding things onto an air mattress. It was pretty exciting to be able to do our own stunts.

What was it like filming the third installment, Eclipse?
AM: It was no pressure. The pressure was doing the job on the first one, trying to understand the character. On this one, I felt a little bit more comfortable with what I was doing. I already knew the cast, so it was a lot easier.

Little Gold Men: Can you tell us a little bit about your Native American descent?
KG: Our tribe is called the Hualapai, and we are in Northern Arizona. We sit on top of the Grand Canyon and used to live there [on the reservation] about ten years ago. We take frequent trips back.

New Moon is your first film. What was the casting process like?
KG: They had an open casting call here in Phoenix, and I auditioned. I was going to
church with my mom out in Cave Creek, and Stephenie Meyer goes to church with her. She kind of helped me out on that one.

Vanity Fair has a new interview with Alex Meraz:

Alex-MerazLittle Gold Men: How did you end up getting cast in New Moon?

Alex Meraz: It was pretty conventional. I got a breakdown for an open casting call—they were looking for Native actors—and I submitted my stuff and luckily I got a role. One of the casting directors was kind of the Native American liaison. I had been cast in another one of her films. I sent her my original casting tape. She liked it, but she thought we could do better. So she brought me in to L.A., I gave it a whirl, and I eventually got the role.

In a Q&A MTV got the chance to do with Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Chaske Spencer at the second day of the official Twilight Convention, they talk about preparations for “Eclipse”, how they get into character and the cliff-diving scene in “New Moon”.

281x211“I decided, all right, the Wolf Pack stay up all night looking for who’s killing people on the res, so we don’t sleep very much. So I thought it would be a great idea if I stayed up for 10 days straight.” What should have been a simple scene — a confrontation between Bella (Stewart) and the Wolf Pack — became, in Meraz’s mind, his “Brando moment.” Wanting to try something different, the actor played the scene overly aggressive: screaming, grabbing Stewart by the throat, hurtling his line at her.

“[Director] Chris Weitz comes off-set like, ‘Yeah, I like the energy Alex, but just take it down a little,’ ” Spencer chimed in: “Meanwhile the producers are freaking out back there.”

” ‘Cause nobody touches Kristen Stewart,” joked Meraz.
