Chris Weitz hoped fans would appreciate the ending of New Moon the movie but they were surprised by it!! So it looks like it’s different than the book’s!!

New Moon” director Chris Weitz seems pretty pleased with the way he ended the second movie in the “Twilight Saga.” But the fans who have already gotten a chance to see the movie are still reeling from Weitz’s directorial decision. Not to give too much away, but some said it wasn’t the conclusion they’d expected.

“I was really surprised by the ending, the way they kept us hanging like that,” Jordana de la Cruz from Rhode Island told MTV News, after seeing a midnight screening in New York. “I hated it, but I liked it at the same time.” …

Robert Pattinson prefers how ‘New Moon‘’s breakup scene plays on the film after a question asked by a fan which Kristen Stewart couldn’t answer.

Twilighters love Stephenie Meyer, and so do the stars of “New Moon.” Which made it all the more interesting recently when MTV solicited questions from the fans over at the Movies Blog, and one of them seemed innocent enough: Which scene came out better in the November 20 film than it was written in the novel?

“I don’t know,” Kristen Stewart said when we hit her with the question last week. “I can’t — that would be a really presumptuous thing to say. I couldn’t go there.”

“There are some difficult bits,” Robert said of the novel-to-movie translation. “The breakup scene was a lot longer in the book, and it’s a very subtle scene. I mean, it’s such a weird line which Edward’s walking and how Bella’s reacting to him. And in the script, as well, it was very well-distilled.” …

MTV has posted yet another interview from this year’s official Twilight Convention with Edi Gathegi in which he talks about the special screening of “New Moon” with Stephenie Meyer, wearing shoes as a vampire and much more.

281x211Gathegi confirmed that he’s seen a cut of “New Moon” and said it follows Stephenie Meyer’s novel closely. “That’s the whole point of having Stephenie Meyer as a consultant for all the books, because you know she has final approval and final say and they’re not going to do anything to upset the fan base,” he told the audience. “You guys are the driving force behind this entire thing.”

The 30-year-old spent about three weeks on the “New Moon” set and was met with a few happy changes from the first film. For one, the cloudy red contact lenses used to give the vampires their signature scarlet stares were replaced with sleeker models more closely resembling regular contacts. For another, Gathegi finally got to wear shoes. “God bless Chris Weitz,” he said. “In “Twilight’ we didn’t have shoes, because in the book they don’t have shoes — you know, nomadic vampires don’t have shoes. And I was cold, I was froze to death! But Chris was like, ‘Well, wear shoes.’ ”

MTV: Hollywood Crush has made a list of the five things they look forward to the most in “New Moon”, “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn”. They sure got some epic parts from the books on that list. Here’s what they had to say.

bellacliff“New Moon” is only 13 short weeks away, “Eclipse” is shooting and just recently, there was an apparently false rumor that we would be getting two “Breaking Dawn” movies. Even though the last “Twilight” film tentatively won’t be coming out until 2011 (or 2012?), it’s hard not to keep our eyes on the last three novels in the “Twilight Saga” as they move toward hitting the big screen. In honor of our excitement over these film adaptations, we have put together a list of our top five favorite scenes we can’t wait to see (in order of importance, of course).

SPOILER ALERT! If you haven’t read anything past the very first book in Stephenie Meyer’s series, you probably should skip reading this list, run out to your nearest bookstore, and, uh … get on that!

One of the “bloggers” at Examiner recently posted a very interesting article about the CGI in “New Moon”. The article is focused mainly on the scenes in which Bella, in the movie adaption, will see an illusion of Edward when riding a dirt bike.

In this situation, Bella’s scene was shot weeks earlier and now Edward must be placed into the scene seamlessly. This means Mr. Pattinson must be in the perfect position, with the exact same lighting and the exact same camera angle as was used with Ms. Stewart. Every mathematical equation is used and computer controlled cameras are used to ensure that is exactly what happens.

Then the Visual Effects Department must marry the two (the two shots, not the two characters) into perfect alignment, erasing the entire green screen and placing Edward in Bella’s arms. To match this shot will take about 15 days of hard work from both cast and crew and, in the final film, will only have about 5 minutes of screen time.
