Ready for the next chapter in the Twilight craze?

If the original Stephenie Meyer teen vampire novels, movies, DVDs, posters and T-shirts aren’t enough, now comes Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 (Yen Press, $19.99), on sale today.

The 350,000 first printing is believed to be the biggest for any graphic novel in the U.S. market.

Because of the original Twilight novel’s length, the graphic novel will be published in two volumes. No date has been announced for the second. Nor is there any word on whether the last three books in the series will be adapted to the format.

IS THAT AN ENGAGEMENT RING?
YES! “This is an engagement ring on Bella’s finger!” Tish confirmed. “This is something that was made for her by the props department.” In other words: she doesn’t have a whole lotta info to share on it. So, until we are able to investigate further, we should point out that the ring (at least what we can see of it from our extreme zoom-in) looks like he could be quite similar to the domed oval one authorized by author Stephenie Meyer after the “Eclipse” book came out, which is for sale by Infinite Jewelry Co. Yes, it’s still early days, but Summit is trying to up its pedigree for its big-screen adaptation of the final installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series. Sources tell EW that the studio has reached out to at least three top-notch directors, including Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) to gauge their interest in what is likely to be two movies. (Van Sant’s reps confirmed that he’s been approached, but Coppola and Condon’s people didn’t return phone calls by press time. Summit declined to comment.)

No decisions are likely to be made until the studio delivers screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg’s detailed outline to the directors. That should happen sometime next week. Until then we can just wonder how these three very diverse directors will approach Bella’s controversial birthing scene.

Chris Weitz, who directed New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight series, says he has read the script for this summer’s third installment, Eclipse – and that one scene in particular is a scorcher.

“I’m looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say,” Weitz tells PEOPLE. “That’s going to be very steamy.”

Adding the list of actors who have expressed an interest in returning for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is Michael Sheen, who portrayed “Aro” in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

This weekend, Sheen’s Alice In Wonderland debuts in theaters, and to promote the film he did an interview with the Toronto Sun about his increasing involvement in young audience-friendly films.

“Nah, it’s gone,” Howard tells us — just a few months after he quipped to MTV: “We might even do something for the third one. How about that for a scoop?”

The news is surprising given the band is pals-y with Eclipse’s director, David Slade (he helmed loads of Muse’s early videos), and possibly pals-ier with Stephenie Meyer (there’s even a photo of lead singer Matthew Bellamy cozying up to Twilight’s dark-ish mistress on Muse’s official site).

“Oh, it’s nothing to do with Stephenie, she’s totally cool,” says Howard, beginning to explain how Muse have potentially broken their Twilight hat-trick. “It’s the people in the movie business, completely outside of the writers and the creative types, the non-creative types I suppose are the people who are quite hard to deal with in Hollywood, so it didn’t work out.”

What does Kellan Lutz think about the idea of releasing “Breaking Dawn” in 3-D, when (or if) it’s made? Well, he’s not too keen on the idea.

“I heard they were talking about it. I don’t really care to see it in 3-D,” he told MTV News on the red carpet at Cosmopolitan magazine’s 2010 Fun Fearless Males party on Monday night in New York City.

Like Pattinson, Lutz isn’t a big fan of movies filmed in multiple dimensions. “3-D kind of hurts my eyes anyways. ‘Avatar’ was amazing in 3-D and in Imax, but I don’t think I wanna see a little baby half-vampire in 3-D,” he said, echoing a similar sentiment made by Stewart. “There’s just some scenes I just wouldn’t want to see in 3-D.”

“I’d love to see Chris Weitz come back,” he said late last year. “I just had so much fun shooting with him. I mean, obviously I would just love to do ['Breaking Dawn']. There’s no word. … Hopefully we get that phone call, and if they want to make it into five movies, I just don’t want it to end. I love my character so much.”
